I gained an HND with Distinction in Calligraphy, Illumination and Heraldic Art from Reigate School of Art in 1997. I work as a freelance lettering artist from my studio in Seaford, East Sussex.
On the rare occasion I do not have a pen or brush in my hand, you’ll find me holding a Cornish Gig oar! I am a member of Newhaven Gig Rowing Club. I love gig racing and have competed at the World Gig Champs in the Isles of Scilly as well as lots of other race events. As a member of the “Seaford Mermaids” I enjoy a daily swim in Seaford Bay all year round.

My love of letters, and passion for sharing my knowledge, resulted in being invited to teach classes. I am a fully inclusive tutor encouraging and welcoming all abilities into the fascinating world of "A - Z". My mantra is "Come in, come in!". I teach weekly classes to my group "Weald Scribes" (see Events) and also offer monthly workshops. I welcome absolute beginners as well as those with experience.
I am passionate about all forms of lettering, on any media, from the classic to the contemporary. My specialty is working on manuscript calfskin vellum from William Cowley. I use the finest handmade papers with ground Chinese stick inks, designer gouache and gilding with gold (raised, flat and shell).
